We had so much fun this summer, here are some pictures from our adventures while camping, hiking, driving, and whatever else we came across. We ended up going to four different temples without even trying to. It was so fun having lunch just outside the temple grounds of the Monticello and Vernal temples, going to church with some friends that shared the same parking lot as the Mt. Timpanogos temple, then going to the Oquirh temple open house.
We had so much fun at family reunions with my mom's family and we saw most of my dad's family while we were there as well. I love being with family, there is nothing like it in the world! I love seeing all of the cousins come together and play with light sabers and have tea parties like they are together often. It makes me sad to live so far from everyone, but I appreciate that we all love to come together and have fun as a family.
One last note, if you ever get a chance to go to Martin's Cove and 6th Crossing in WY, please go. It is where the pioneers from the Willie & Martin Handcart Co's ran into bad weather and so many of them died. Pres. Hinckley said it is one of the most sacred places on the earth, more sacred than any church or temple and I will testify to that as well. It is amazing to read and experience some of the saints went through as they crossed the plains. Mitch(age11) carried Steve(age 4) on his back as we hike over Rocky Ridge, just as a boy, age 11, carried his little brother, age 4 over the same ridge so many years before. It brought tears to our eyes knowing how much suffering so many saints went through.
