Off-Roading

David has some great friends here that invite him to go along on their off-roading adventures. They have been to Colorado a couple of times and most recently went down by Tucson for their adventures. Amie was miserable with the chicken pox, so I told David to take the older kids and have fun without us. He left Friday afternoon and got home Saturday night. The kids love to go with their dad on adventures! They bring home all kinds of "treasures" and great stories to share. One of their favorite things is being able to ride without seat belts...sometimes it goes a little farther than that and they get to hang out the windows and sun roof:)
I love this picture! It tells so much about my kids. They would all rather be crammed together in one tiny space than be spread out. If it weren't for seat belts, we could drive a very small car! It is the same at home. David & I joke that we don't know why we have a four bedroom house when all we need is two rooms. The kids all want to sleep together in one room. They will probably grow out of this as they become teenagers, but we are going to enjoy it while it lasts!


Yes, the back tire is off the ground. Our friend, Pete, jumped on the bumper and gave the kids a little ride.

Do you notice the truck is resting on the rock? The running boards got very bent and made it hard to get into the truck. Every time Steve would get in the truck, he would get this upset look on his face and say, "Man, we totally need sliders!" He is so cute! How many 3 yr olds are that brain washed? (Sliders are thick, metal running boards that don't bend when you hit them)Did David pay him to say that over and over to me? After seeing the damage done to the truck, I am also convinced we need sliders...someday. I think David sometimes forgets that it is still my truck to haul kids around in. I don't mind though as long as he keeps it drivable and keeps my kids safe.
This is the type of thing that scares me to death- rolling over. David promises me that he is very careful and doesn't try things he even questions. Sometimes boys scare me when they are with their friends though. They tend to try things they normally wouldn't!
